Kelsey is a Kansas City native with a lifelong passion for creating beautiful, welcoming spaces. Her eye for design was shaped early on, growing up alongside her father, the founder of Kansas City Homes & Gardens magazine—an iconic resource for home inspiration in the metro area for decades. Being immersed in the world of interiors from a young age helped develop her innate sense of style and love for thoughtful design.

Before transitioning into staging, Kelsey spent over ten years as an elementary school teacher in Kansas City. Even while teaching first grade, she was the go-to among friends and family for decorating advice, often helping them transform their houses into homes. After welcoming her son, Oliver, in 2022, she took a leap of faith and began staging homes part-time for local real estate agents, following the creative path that had always called to her.

In 2025, after earning her real estate license, Kelsey found the perfect blend of her two passions—design and real estate—and launched Sunflower Staging.

At Sunflower Staging, Kelsey and her team believe every space should feel like home. With a sharp eye for detail and a love for making spaces shine, Kelsey approaches each project—whether a cozy starter home or a high-end listing—with warmth, intention, and care. Her work reflects her belief that great design doesn’t just sell homes—it tells a story.

Outside of staging, Kelsey enjoys life with her husband, Reed, their son, Oliver, and their dog, Marvin. She loves trying new restaurants around Kansas City, tackling home organization projects, and unwinding with her favorite reality TV shows.
